ISTS Footy Pools for 2024 - Round 6
Here we go for round 6 that evens up all teams to having played 6 matches and gives the most accurate view of the ladder this year. FFS how long did this take.
Max Verstappen won the Chinese Grand Prix and made it look easy. At one stage the focus was on the fight for 16th and 17th place! But the circuit had great overtaking opportunitiesand the millions of locals turned out to support the first hinese driver to compete at the Shanghai F1 race in Zhou Guanyu. Well seemed like millions.
The Eagles upset the Dockers in the Derby but if you were watching last week you would have seen West Coast get their Mojo! Only 7% predicted the Eagles to win the Derby. The Dons defeating the Crowies was a 13% prediction but once again the Bombers can have the edge! Just! Thursday had the Bullies find form and upset the Saints with just 22% of us predicting that. 28% of us prdicted the Cats getting over the Lions at the Gabba but Brisbane haven't won there this year! And arguably, 37% prediction of Carlton beating the undefeated Giants was an upset making it 4 tricky matches to pick. And how many others contra-picked the other matches as upsets even though they were not?
Some social media are having a go and Hinkley but finally some commentators are starting to ask bigger questions of Clarkson (Premiership Coach with Hawthorn). Takes a lot for the Melbourne media to jump on one of their own previous heroes. Interstate teams always get more scrutiny than the 10 Victorian ones.
A bunch of players will get a week suspension for high flying tackles into opposition players heads. Nathan Murphy from Colligoowd was medically retired after successive concussion events. The MRO (Match Review Officer) is not always consistent but these penalties for head high contact are important when we now realise what bygone players are now suffering with.
Anyway, let's get into it and all look together!!
